Are the Prevalence of Concussions in the NFL decreasing?
/It is the tyranny of numbers. We are going to review the past few NFL seasons involving concussions. This means a lot of numbers. There is no other way. So here we go:
I would like to think that with more players reporting suspected head injuries and medical spotters at games pulling more athletes to the sideline for examination that the concussion story is getting better. The numbers are the numbers.
To be fair, the NFL has attempted a number of methods to reduce concussions including changing kickoffs, limiting the number of full-contact practices and placing extra medical personnel at games.
The league admits, however; that its concussion protocols even though more enhanced has flaws.
And the concussions continue.
