2015 NCAA Football Concussions

The 2015 NCAA FBS football concussion tally will also be broken down by playoff week totals. Let's discuss what else you may need to know in order to get a picture of what is happening on the field. Base on Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates we know that concussions are under reported at every level of sport. This is confirmed in recent reporting by America Tonight's Tim Bella. In that reporting, it was suggested that for each concussion reported there may be as many as 21 dings that are going unreported by college players.

In 2015 less than 48% of NCAA FBS schools publicly reported their football concussions (61 of 128 schools). That reporting number was 62 programs in 2014 and 42 programs in 2013.

Additionally, 12 college players retired - quit the sport due to concussions in 2015. This number was 9 in 2014 and 6 in 2013.
